Location

Situated close to both Tuscan and Umbrian attractions, L'Albero Bello villa is a wonderful base from which to easily explore this magnificent region. It's less than a mile from the remarkably preserved medieval walled hilltop town of Lucignano with its varied shops, restaurants and grocery stores. Lucignano, the pearl of Valdichiana, is one of the most interesting examples of medieval town planning with its elliptical structure based on concentric rings. It's a hidden gem, authentic and untouched by mass tourism, a place suspended out of time. Be sure to visit the elaborate reliquary made for the church of San Francesco in the Museum of Lucignano. Called the L'albero della vita (The Tree of Life) the central stem is supported on a Gothic reliquary, from which spread out twelve branches, surmounted by a Crucifix and a pelican. On the branches there are sprigs of coral, representing the blood of Christ.

The villa is within 30 miles of Arezzo, Siena and Lake Trasimeno and so many more amazing sites and villages. Go horseback riding, play tennis, tour wineries, get out on the water in Lake Trasimieno there are endless possibilities surrounding you!

Local train and bus service connect through Arezzo or drive 15 minutes to the Arezzo train station that has direct service north to Florence and south to Rome.

Exterior

This lovely old stone house reserves all the character of its 17th century origins.

Set in a private, tranquil landscape, the pool will provide many hours of enjoyment during the summer months. The outdoor covered lounge and dining patio affords comfortable space for dining al fresco, acting as an outdoor living room. The pool has a pool house with a full bathroom, a kitchenette and barbecue.

Interior

Beautiful airy rooms are comfortably furnished and inviting with a pleasing blend of traditional and contemporary design. Eclectic artwork, kilim carpets and fabulous beamed ceilings add interest, color and architectural charm. The living room at the heart of the house has windows that open onto the garden and a large arched passageway that leads to the adjacent dining area.

The well-appointed air-conditioned kitchen is light filled and large, with another great beamed ceiling and unique tile work it's perfect for preparing delicious meals with the wonderful delicacies abundant in this region. For your comfort there is air conditioning in all four bedrooms as well as modern en suite bathrooms.

A beautiful and cozy sitting room on the second floor offers air conditioning in the summer to keep you cool and an open fireplace in the cooler months. This creates a perfect place to snuggle up with a book and glass of Brunello on a cold autumn evening.

The Perfect Villa!

by Pam & George K.

The L'Albero Villa was exactly what we dreamed of...and more. The location, easy walk into Lucignano was so wonderful. We were 4 couples & enjoyed exploaring Tuscany, wine tasting, terrific restaurants. Our time together at the villa was priceless - laughing, cooking together, sharing stories, playing card, planning the next day's adventure. The Italy Perfect team was amazingly knowledgeable and professional. They really know Italy and provided such helpful advice before, during and after the booking pricess. Highly recommended!

L'Albero Bello Review

by Tony C

The L'Albero Bello villa in Lucignano was an absolute gem, although getting to it by car from Florence was a challenge. The directions took us onto a winding gravel road that we would still be navigating if it were not for the fortuitous intervention of Elio, the groundskeeper for the villa. In the future, I would recommend giving directions that go through the church; much shorter and more direct.  The villa itself was amazing, very spacious with four bedrooms and four full baths, three living room spaces and a great kitchen. Someone took a 600-year-old villa and thoroughly modernized it without detracting from the historic character of the building. The greeter was very helpful in orienting us and generally taking care of us, including a stopped-up bathtub drain. The location was great for exploring the Tuscan countryside and surrounding sites like Sienna and Pienza. Speaking of restaurants we would like to strongly recommend one close to the villa, Le Bindi. It is located inside the walls of Monte San Servino, so it’s tricky to find, but well worth it.  There is one seating each night of 20 diners sitting around a long table. Reservations well in advance are required. The chef serves fifteen to twenty courses (we lost track) family style (yes I said 15-20!). The food could be described as nuevo Tuscan, absolutely delicious, and all for 25 euros per person! Overall, our experience could not have been better. Thank you for a great villa in Tuscany.

Easter in Italy

by Steve

We always wanted to spend Easter in Italy, and Italy Perfect made that a reality.  We spoke with Kelly and Lisa, and everything they told us about the property and location was spot on.  They gave us valuable tips and helped us hone in on our location.  I would 100% recommend Italy Perfect for anyone wanting a villa vacation in Tuscany. Seven of us stayed at L'Albery Bello in mid-April over the Easter week.  We rented a car and drove from the Rome airport.  The location was perfect for Tuscany as it is an easy 2 hour drive from Rome.   We had 7 people with us, but the living areas within the villa were big enough to accommodate many more.  We were so comfortable that we skipped one of our planned excursions to just relax at the villa.  The pool wasn't open yet as it was mid-April, but I could imagine it being even more relaxing at the pool.  The only slight downside to the villa was the queen beds upstairs.  They were a little firm for our taste.  The twins downstairs were actually a bit more comfortable.  It wasn't enough to cause an issue, it's just that we prefer a softer mattress.  From our villa, Florence is within an hour's drive, and Siena is 40 minutes.  There are many other small towns to see that are less than 30 minutes.  I was a bit nervous to drive from town to town, but the roads were more than easy to navigate.  I would recommend using google maps, but make sure to download "offline maps" as the GPS will still work without data reception.  We never got lost using this trick.  For anyone who is a wine lover, Montalcino is a must see.  It is about 45 minutes from the villa by car.  We tasted Brunello at local vineyards and spent some time in the city of Montalcino.  The San Polino winery was our favorite, and we had a case shipped back to the U.S. The town of Lucignano is a 5 minute drive, or 20 minute walk.  The 2 main restaurants in Lucignano are excellent, and the Gelato was the highlight.  The owner of the Gelato shop spoke perfect English, and he was very excited to tell us about everything local to the area (very helpful).  We spent one afternoon just walking through the town, having lunch at the La Tavernetta and or course having gelato for dessert.Overall, I would definitely recommend Italy Perfect for anyone looking to rent in Italy.  L'Albero Bello was an excellent place to stay for the 7 of us.  Whether or not we go back isn't the question, it's just a matter of when...
